New Zealand team makes history at OCR World Championships

on October 01, 2024

CurraNZ helped New Zealand claim its first-ever medal at the World Obstacle Championships at Costa Rica in August.

It was a landmark event for the 19-strong team that was sponsored by CurraNZ, with several New Zealand records being set for the 100m event.

Laura Grant claimed New Zealand's first-ever World Championships medal, with a bronze in the Masters Age Group category. Laura took 47 seconds off her previous best time on the 100m course and helped set a new benchmark for New Zealand at the event.

Obstacle course racing is an emerging sport and has been steadily growing in popularity.

Racing can involve short to long distances and include all manner of obstacles from over to under walls to concrete filled tyre hoists, tyre flips, strength bag carries, multi-rig grip obstacles and rope traverses (to name a few).

Well done team, we look forward to following your progress in years to come!
