CurraNZ customer of the month Sarah Drought has been lighting up the national running scene and recently achieved a long-held dream to represent New Zealand at the World Cross Country Champs in Australia.
In June, Sarah recorded a fantastic breakthrough performance when lowering the Wellington half marathon record and setting a near three-minute PB with a time of 1:17:06.
A few months later, she claimed two silver medals at the 10km road and 10,000m National Championships and recently ran a big personal best over 10km of 33.36.
The mum-of two says: "CurraNZ has been a great addition to my tool kit over the past few months, as my training load increased in the lead up to the World Cross Country Championship in February and as I work towards the Christchurch Half Marathon in April."
Sarah (above, pictured right) was the first woman home in the New Zealand women’s senior team in Australia last month, helping them to 10th overall, with a respectable 49th individual placing.
Sarah says, "To finish top 50 in a World Champs was my A goal, and I was over the moon be the first New Zealander home. It was tough.
"With two young kids and a part-time job, I really struggle to find the time for adequate rest and recovery.
"Since using CurraNZ, I've noticed an improvement in how my body has been able to absorb the training and recover from hard sessions so I'm ready to go for the next one.
"Even on the days that I've felt a bit tired turning up to a workout, I've often been surprised by the times that I've been able to achieve."
