CurraNZ ambassador, Max Brown, has claimed his first individual title at the New Zealand Canoe Sprint Championships at Lake Karapiro. Max won an epic battle against his partner, Kurtis Imrie, who he later won gold with in the K2 1000M race.
"I was over the moon about the race. I was focusing on being really consistent throughout the race and sticking to my race plan. I was actually the fastest off the line which was a nice surprise but then eased off and the other boys took the lead. I managed to stay in touch until the last 250m which was where I put the hammer down. I sprinted into the lead and took the win. This is my first ever National Title in the K1. I have always done quite well in the team boats, so I was stoked to finally get a Gold Medal on my own."
"Ive been taking CurraNZ blackcurrants for 4-5 months now and feel like I am making really big gains in my performances and recovery. I like to take 2 tabs 2 hours before a big session or race."
A huge congratulations to Max & Imrie - we're looking forward to seeing these Kiwis representing New Zealand in Japan this August.
