Customer Jay Claydon has been putting his faith in CurraNZ since it was a new kid on the sports-scape and he was a newcomer to running.
The British man shares his seven-year journey with our purple marvels, which have taken him from 5K and half marathon, through to running five of the Abbott World Majors.
' I’m a sucker for the latest running fad, but CurraNZ have remained a constant throughout the years'
Jay writes: "I first came across CurraNZ in 2017, whilst training for the Disney Dopey Challenge; a four-day running event of a 5k, 10k, Half and Marathon over consecutive days at Walt Disney World.
As well as the mileage, my biggest concern was how I was going to sufficiently recover between races.
The use of natural blackcurrants (with no nasty additives) and the promise of ‘reduced fatigue and soreness during and after exercise’ attracted me - and I duly placed my first order.
Now I could say I noticed an immediate difference and went out the next day and smashed my PBs, but of course that would be an exaggeration.
What I can say is that after a week or so, I noticed that although I was working as hard in my workouts, I was recovering quicker, and the dreaded DOMS were very much reduced.
Seven years later, I’m a regular subscriber and haven’t looked back.
Incidentally, I completed the ‘Dopey’ well within my target time and with a marathon PB to boot (it was only at the time my second, but still!).
I’ve now run five of the six Abbott World Marathon Majors; just the pesky Boston to go (I’m ignoring Sydney for now).
CurraNZ are an integral part not only of my training but my search for a healthier lifestyle as I get older.
I take 1 tablet daily, increasing to 2 in heavier training periods or in the days leading up to a race.
I’ve also started occasionally taking an additional tablet before bed as I find it helps with ‘restless legs’ syndrome that I can suffer with after longer runs.
I’m often a sucker for the latest running fad, always looking for any way I can make myself fitter and faster; but CurraNZ have remained a constant throughout the years and I’ll continue to pop my little purple pill of goodness every morning long after I’ve hung up my running shoes."
