Kiwi ultra-running icon and CurraNZ ambassador Ruth Croft has raced to more success in Europe, this time smashing the women’s field in the ‘Supertrail XL’ at Zugspitz Ultratrail, Germany’s biggest Trailrunning event in June.
The Adidas Terrex professional runner dismantled the women’s division with over two hours to spare over her nearest competitor, finishing the 87km, 4206m elevation race in 11 hours nine minutes.
Then, just a few weeks later, Ruth finished top female and fourth overall in the 50km Marathon de la Lauziere in France, finishing 20 minutes clear of the nearest woman, in 5 hours 40.
It looks like our Kiwi giant-slayer is in great form ahead of her ‘A Race’ of the season, Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc on September 1, a race she previously won in 2018 and 2019.
