This little piggie set a new Backyard Ultra record on CurraNZ

Brooke Thomas, a keen CurraNZ fan, has set a new women's course record at the Pigs Backyard Ultra in Dunedin, clocking 20 laps, or 134.2km. After a strong showing at Pigs, she is looking to book a place in New Zealand’s Backyard Ultra team. 

No stranger to setting records, Brooke, from Queenstown, (pictured here, top left) is the fastest woman on trail to run the length of New Zealand (57 days).

Brooke has more racing in her sights with a trip to Iceland and another crack at UTMB, the ‘world championships’ of trail running, in Chamonix, France, in September.

Brooke will be heading to the Backyard World Champs in October - and running shoulder to shoulder with the ‘Big Dogs’.
