AUSTRALASIAN Multi-Sport Champion, Dougal Allan, took second in IronMan Qujing 70.3 on Saturday.
Racing on CurraNZ, Dougal recorded the fastest bike split of the day and finished just two minutes behind the winner, former ex-professional Italian cyclist Domenico Passuello.
True to form, the sixth-ranked male in the world for the IronMan bike ratings recorded the fastest bike split of the day and finished the half-Iron in 3:55.
The long-distance athlete who uses CurraNZ for racing and training, says: "This was easily my best result over this distance, both in time and placing.
"It was quite a thrill to race so well with so many Chinese supporters and media involved around the race. It was broadcast on live Chinese television and I had a film crew on a motorbike next to me the entire 21km run!"
